No Fear. Powered by Theora.

As we grow older, we need to grow bolder.

Living Independently, Confidently and Yes – Boldly – Whether at Home or in a Senior Community does not Mean Acting Your Age

Getting older has challenges but does not have to be a time when you abandon your passions or your purpose in life. You just need to use all your tools to ADAPT and keep living your best life.

The reality of aging is that our physical and cognitive strength may decrease. But planning for this phase of life puts you in the driver’s seat to navigate around the obstacles. And being prepared as a family caregiver, helps you and your loved one achieve the best quality of life (QoL).

Theora No Fear

We designed the Theora No Fear™ Campaign to launch during Older Americans Month. This year’s #OAM25 theme is “flip the script.” That was precisely our intention when we conceived of the No Fear Campaign.

Society looks at older adults and aging as a time of decline, decay, disability, disease, and dementia.

But scientific studies show the majority of people over age 65 are happier in their lives with the peak of happiness happening in your late 70s and 80s. And, the secret to living longer, healthier and happier is to have quality relationships and social connections and to pursue your passion and purpose.

“Old people still have dreams.” — John Glenn, age 77 when he went back to space

At Theora, we are here to help you pursue your dreams and live boldly using the tool of technology.

Understanding the challenges helps us prepare for and overcome them.

60% of Alzheimer’s adults wander and become lost, jeopardizing their safety

No Fear means Live Boldly.

Fear is something that triggers our survival response – fight or flight. It can create anxiety – also known as anticipatory fear or stress. As we age, fear of falling, fear of dementia and wandering, fear of not having the strength – physically or emotionally – all can make us feel that we have to give up things we love.

However, as we age, we can conquer fear by taking back control over our limitations. We can adapt instead of abandon.

Part of this mindset is having confidence and a positive outlook about life. It is an era where we can tap into the desire we have to live a life of passion and purpose.

The other part of having No Fear, is putting technology to work for you as a key element of living boldly.

No Fear Means Having Great Partners

We work together with families, professionals, and communities to create a safer world.

Family Caregivers

More than 105 million – 40% of American adults – are family caregivers. You want your older loved one to live safely and independently but also to live a life they love.

That is where the situational awareness technology from Theora helps family caregivers be aware and connected whether near or far.

Professional Caregivers

More than 3 million older adults live in a senior living community and another 12 million are cared for in their own homes.

With innovative advanced AI and neural networking technology, Theora offers enterprise solutions to increase quality of life for older adults.

Law Enforcement

The job of law enforcement is to keep people safe and help us all live in No Fear. Many communities now face recovering older adults who wander or get lost.

Theora is a true partner to law enforcement in recovering older adults quickly while reducing service costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How did the “No Fear” campaign come about?

Our Chief Marketing Officer was at a conference with adults living with dementia and realized that having no fear was what was helping them deal with their diagnosis and maximize their quality of life. Assistive technology can play a big part in keeping them living their best life for longer. This sparked the “No Fear” Campaign for all older adults to have that same empowering feeling that “the best is yet to come” in life and tech can help with that.

My dad doesn’t feel like the cost of the watch and subscription is worth it, how can I convince him?

We always honor an older adult’s decision and opinion but it may be worth noting that a hospital stay from an injurious fall can cost $30,000 and insurance may not cover all the expense. In addition, weeks, or sometimes months, of painful rehabilitation, and missing out on activities and events you love may not be worth the risk. Not to mention the cost to you as his possible caregiver who may have to take time off work or from family activities to transport him to therapy and doctor appointments, help prepare meals, get him into bed and other activities of daily living that occur with a serious fall and possible injuries. Share with your dad the statistics on this page and our Falls page. Then please honor his decision.

Both my wife and I love our Theora Connect watches and it has helped us be more bold and do more camping and traveling that we love. We were wondering if you offered a “couples” discount on the subscriptions since we’re on a fixed income and subscriptions are increasing our monthly cost of living?

We are constantly looking at special marketing offers as well as working with local nonprofit and community partners to give as many people as possible access to our technology. While today we don’t have a “couples” discount – we’ll send you information as a loyal customer if that changes.
